MYRIAD

Waiting. Waiting as the world goes by to feel the sensuous embrace of the life that we were once promised. Of children, once hoping that the suffering that we felt would clear as if smoke as we reached traversed our way through the river of life, unable to control our vessel as our ships rocked treacherously amongst its tides. The riches and fantasy that we each dream of, cruelly distant as the winters surround us, crystalising these warm hearts. This smoke grows thicker, now a wall before me. I look back, only to be met with the same cruel sight, a cage this has now become. If not amongst these seeping shadows, whose cold touch I have mistaken for comfort, where then, is this life we were promised?

Of the somber nights alone I stay, lost amongst the sea of their voices. Their murmuring words flooding my mind, drowning out my own as I struggle to find you. My own voice, my own thoughts, my child, how I have missed and longed for you amongst this storm of lies and anger - forsaking you to only the darkest depths of my conscious. Forgive me, for I have spoken in the language of the over_-thinker, in which my comfort stems from my chaos. In which my anxiety has become the water that nourishes the seeds of morbid thought that remain to be true. Although I remain in solitude, their false whispers rain upon my eyes. Reach toward me and pull me from such tragedies, and find me once again - for it is only your words that heal this soul…

…for every day had felt the same.
